- Pray for wisdom and understanding. The most often overlooked and undervalued aspect of Bible study is prayer. Through prayer we can approach God and acknowledge our incomplete knowledge as well as the need for Him to open our hearts to His wisdom. Begin each reading/study with prayer. Only God can give you the wisdom to understand His Word.
